Luiz Fernando Costa e Silva — who records as Nando Costa — is a Los Angeles-based music producer, audio engineer, and post-production specialist. He is a Grammy nominated engineer, recognized for Best Instrumental Album at the 21st Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards (2020) as the mastering engineer on Cartografías by Caetano Brasil. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Berklee College of Music in Music Production and Engineering, he was recognized by the Acoustical Society of America (2009) and by Berklee's Music Production and Engineering Department (2011). After graduating he returned to Brazil and led productions at several major recording studios, including a defining run at Versão Acústica, the studio of Emmerson Nogueira, where he worked on the Gold- and Platinum-certified Emmerson Nogueira (2014), Versão Acústica 5 (2015), and Versão Acústica Sessions (2019) for Sony Music Brazil. Along the way he has recorded and mixed for Milton Nascimento, Stanley Jordan, Rouge, and Elba Ramalho. Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2019 he has expanded into film and television, collaborating on TV series and features including The Getback, Play Dirty, and Eyes in the Trees, starring Anthony Hopkins. He also teaches Audio Engineering at The Los Angeles Film School, and has led the engineering team at MIX Recording Studio for over six years. I'd like to thank Mix Recording Studio for an amazing service because finding a good recording studio could be a difficult process. There are so many of them in Los Angeles. The engineer is amazing and he has a great ear for a bunch of different sounds. Studio is clean, looks like brand new. OMG...the lighting...I love it! Also prices are good to compare to the other recording studios. Definitely recommend to record any project here.
